The Virginia Beach Animal Control Bureau and the Virginia Beach Health Department would like to invite all pets, their owners, and those looking to adopt a pet to WOOFSTOCK!
Woofstock is an event to promote the adoption of sheltered animals. We encourage the public to get out their tie-dyes, love beads, bell bottoms, and join the fun to show support for this first time event. There will be games, contests, a fashion parade, prizes, vendors and many sheltered animals that will be ready to par-tee!
“Bryan and the Rockets” will be performing.
Come see demonstrations by the Virginia Beach Police K-9 Team and Mounted Patrol!
Animal rescue and adoption groups will be there too!
“Friends of Virginia Beach Animal Control” will be on hand to help.
The festival will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Red Wing Park on General Booth Boulevard.
There will also be a low cost rabies clinic. Vaccinations will be only $5.00 per animal. Animal Control will have pets for adoption and City pet licenses available for purchase.
So that everyone will have a safe and enjoyable day, all dogs must be leashed and all cats and small animals have to be in a carrier.
Come out and show some love for the homeless animals of Virginia Beach!
