Blind and Low Vision Resources Fair To Be Held Nov. 6 at Bayside Library

Are you blind or do you have impaired vision? We have help for you.

 

On Friday, Nov. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., we will demonstrate new equipment and technology to help people with vision problems. This will include magnifiers, CCTVs, text-to-speech devices, scanners, desktops and hand-held devices.

 

The resources fair will be held at the Bayside and Special Services Library, 936 Independence Blvd., near Sentara Bayside Hospital. Library staff will be on hand to demonstrate the special services and devices.

 

The Seeing Beyond Low Vision Support Group will meet from 11 a.m. to noon. The resource fair will be open to the public from noon to 3 p.m.

 

Also as part of the fair, the Bayside Lions Club will screen people for diabetes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness if left untreated. No registration is required.
